General Manager Required!
We are seeking an experienced and visionary General Manager to join a market-leading agricultural machinery manufacturing company based in York. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's operations, ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high-quality standards, and driving business growth. This is a senior leadership role that requires a deep understanding of the agricultural machinery industry, strong business acumen, and exceptional leadership skills.
General Manager - Position Overview
- Develop and implement strategic plans to drive growth, market share, and profitability in the agricultural machinery manufacturing sector.
- Oversee all manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient production processes, optimising resources, and maintaining high-quality standards.
- Manage the financial performance by developing and monitoring budgets, analysing financial statements, and implementing cost control measures.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop effective strategies to increase market penetration, identify new business opportunities, and build strong customer relationships.
- Lead product development initiatives, conducting market research, analysing customer feedback, and collaborating with engineering and design teams to introduce innovative agricultural machinery solutions.
- Manage the supply chain, including procurement, inventory control, and logistics, to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
- Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a positive work environment, providing coaching and mentorship, and promoting professional development.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable industry regulations, standards, and health and safety guidelines.
- Foster a customer-centric culture by ensuring exceptional product quality, timely delivery, and responsive customer service.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, industry associations, and government agencies.
General Manager - Position Requirements
- Proven background in Agriculture industry
- Proven record of managing an Engineering/Service provider.
- Engineering operational & production experience.
- Must have knowledge and proven experience working with Agricultural machinery.
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role, Ideally the agricultural machinery manufacturing or relatable industry.
- In-depth knowledge of agricultural machinery products, manufacturing processes, and market trends.
- P&L experience.
- Lean principles and 5S training.
- Proven people management skills.
General Manager - Position Remuneration
- Salary: £45K - £50K
- Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4pm
- 28 days holiday
