    AWE have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Category Manager to join our growing team. The team focuses on Facilities Infrastructure, ensuring our sites remain operational, managing the end to end procurement process for a number of categories such as Hard and Soft Services, Transport, Logistical Services, Utilities, Waste Management Services, PPE, Off Site Leasing Arrangements and Small Construction Projects etc.

    In fact, AWE have two openings. The first Senior Category Manager will be tasked with sourcing and contract managing the leases on new buildings, as part of AWE's expansion across the UK opening satellite sites. The 2nd person will be sourcing and contract managing construction small works projects. So when applying, please indicate which opportunity is your preference.

    As the Senior Category Manager, you'll drive, implement, and execute Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, Contract Management and Supplier Relationship Management within an assigned sub-group of categories, with the ultimate objective of leveraging and securing AWE supplier base to support its current and future business requirements. The Senior Category Manager will provide Commercial and Contract Performance support to the business to allow management of project and commercial risk.

    Previous experience leading a procurement discipline is essential. Those that have achieved CIPS are at an advantage, although currently studying or planning to study will be considered. Public Procurement experience is beneficial.

    What will you be responsible for?

    • Supporting and executing strategic sourcing activities and preferred suppliers list, including the execution of the RFx process, supplier evaluation and selection, contract negotiation, business award and contract handover

    • Responsibly for contractual and commercial management and effective administration to the relevant team providing commercial assurance to deliver value

    • Support and implement Supplier Relationship Management for key and critical suppliers within the sup-group of categories

    • Identify and develop Supplier value

    • Provide input to the Process and Performance team

    To be successful in this role you will:

    • Consistently demonstrate positive behaviours in live with the company's standards

    • Implement Category Strategy to deliver cost effective solutions and business models

    • Secure competition in the supplier base

    • Securing and tracking cost reduction, contract management and continuity of Supply Chain

    • Contribute to the long-term business ensuring competitive initial cost and total cost development in the product and service lifecycle

    • Administer contracts in accordance with all the terms and conditions ensuring contract compliance

    • Ensure appropriate management of commercial risks, forecast spend and change impacts with key stakeholders

    Location - Reading / Basingstoke Area

    Starting salary: £57,540 - £80,000 depending on experience.
