Alpine Racing have a fantastic opportunity to join a team on the rise looking to push and fight for podiums and ultimately championship wins. We are looking for a combustion Engineer to join our hardware performance team in its goal to explore items, create and lead the performance development of our internal combustion engines.

Main Missions:

The main mission of this role consists in developing aero combustion systems for the Alpine Racing Power-Units.

Especially, to propose new aero surfaces for:

• Cylinder head
• Inlet port
• Exhaust port
• Ignition system
• Combustion chamber
• Spray pattern and injection optimisation

Detailed missions:

As a key member of the " Hardware Performance " team (in charge of the hardware performance development for the Alpine Racing Power Units), the Combustion Systems Performance engineer works closely with the " 1D " engineers, in order to jointly optimise the acoustics and aero-combustion of the system.

Supported by CAD designers working in the same team, he/she will be responsible for proposing / developing the performance of the combustion system, mainly (but not limited to) the aero surfaces of the cylinder head and the combustion chamber.

He/she will also be, in close collaboration with the other members of the team, contributing to new acoustic concepts (plenum, exhausts, valvetrain ).

In addition, the Combustion Systems Performance Engineer will, after the designs are released, contribute to the test programmes definition, ensure the follow-up in with the test engineers and analyse the test results.

Main deliverables:

• Cylinder head and combustion chambers surfaces
• Simulation / test analysis reports
• Technical specification recommendations for test engines and test programmes.

Profile :

• Solid experience (3+ years) in 3D unsteady simulations (Converge/StarCD/Fire .)
• First experience in development of limited fuel flow Internal combustion engines
• GTpower software advanced user
• In-depth knowledge of thermodynamics used in Internal combustion engine.
• Previous experience using CONVERGE and STARCCMP software appreciated
• Knowledge of data processing tools (INDICOM/Concerto/Editmeasure ) appreciated
• Knowledge of design of experiments methodologies appreciated
• Strong team player
• Ability to set priorities and meet tight deadlines
• Hilghly motivated by technical challenges in high level motorsport context
• French language skills appreciated
