    Job title: Shop Manager Contract: permanent, full time 35 hours/5 days per week Salary: £21,000 - £21,746 per annum Location: Wokingham, RG40 1AL Closing date: 9 June 2023 Do you have experience working in high street retail or charity retail as an employee or volunteer and are looking for your next Shop Manager opportunity? If the answer is yes, then look no further! Blue Cross has over 50 charity shops throughout England and Wales. Our generous supporters donate a mixture of fabulous clothes, books, toys, household goods and soft furnishings that we sell in our shops and online. All the money raised goes towards enabling Blue Cross to support sick, injured, and homeless pets and care for more than 40,000 animals every year through our rehoming, veterinary and education programmes. More about the role As a Shop Manager at Blue Cross, you will be responsible for maximising sales to achieve set targets; generating donations; display and merchandising; managing stock deliveries and collections; record keeping and cash handling for your shop. You be the high street face of Blue Cross which includes greeting our customers and raising awareness of the work we do in the local community. An important part of your role will be recruiting, training, motivating, managing, and supporting a loyal and committed team of volunteers. This is permanent full-time role working 35 hours per week over five days on a rota to include weekends and Bank Holidays. Due, to the nature of the work of Blue Cross, it may be necessary to exceed these hours when the workload demands. What is required? With strong commercial awareness and the ambition to succeed you will be able to demonstrate creativity and innovation to identify income opportunities whilst working closely with the local community and businesses. You ll have: Retail management experience Commercial awareness to deliver sales Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong external relationships. Good IT skills and a basic understanding of finance Good people management skills Excellent customer service skills It would also be great if you had: Full driving licence Experience of working with volunteers Experience of fundraising Why work for Blue Cross?
