We are looking for a skilled and experienced disrepair surveyor to join our team. In this role you will play a critical part in identifying and assessing building damages, ensuring prompt repairs, and providing expert advice to our customers and stakeholders. You will conduct thorough inspections of properties to identify defects and damages, including structural issues, dampness and mould, infestations, and disrepair caused by negligence or lack of maintenance. You will assess the severity of each disrepair case and provide accurate reports and documentation, outlining recommended repair actions and associated costs. Confidence in required to interact with customers and manage difficult conversations. You will liaise with contractors to coordinate necessary repairs to a high standard before obtaining sign off, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. You will also collaborate with legal teams and attend court hearings when required, providing expert evidence regarding disrepair cases. A professional attitude is essential to provide advice on preventative measures and long-term maintenance strategies to minimise disrepair issues in the future. To be successful in this role you will need: Proven experience as a disrepair or building surveyor, or a similar role, preferably in the housing association, property management or building surveyor sectors. Strong knowledge of property maintenance, construction, and repair methodologies Excellent understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice related to property disrepair Solid analytical and problem-solving skills to accurately identify, assess, and report on building damages. Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities to effectively interact with customers, contractors, and legal teams An ability to work independently, manage own workload, and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail Professional qualifications in Building Surveyor, construction, or a related field are highly desirable Able to communicate using technology and systems Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire region.If you are a dedicated professional with a passion for property inspections and improving living conditions, then we would like to hear from you.
