A performance analyst has a strong understanding of a wide range of sources and analytical tools needed for the project or service they are working on. In our Public Engagement team, you will have direct impact on services that support the changes in how we regulate. This includes the way we publish results from Inspections, members of the public giving feedback on their care, as well as the Engagement campaigns we run. In this role, you'll also have the opportunity to work directly with User Researchers in your service team, to inform what they work on. This role is part of the Digital, Data and Technology Profession in the Civil Service. What you will bring As a Performance Analyst, you will bring your experience of working alongside others in a multi-disciplinary service or project team. You will be proficient in a wide range of analytics tools, including (but not limited to) Google Analytics. You will be skilled and experienced at carrying out the day-to-day activities of a performance analyst, including setting up performance measurement frameworks and supporting service delivery, while also working out 'what a good service looks like' and finding ways to measure that. With your previous experience you will be able to actively contribute to the research and service design community within your department, whilst forging links with other analytical disciplines across CQC. You will also be supported in this role by a Senior Performance Analyst, and Lead User Researcher. JOB DESCRIPTION Accountabilities: Product development and accessibility Ensure the CQC public website meets all appropriate accessibility standards and oversee applications for relevant accreditation. Support the Product Manager in ensuring our public digital services are developed using best user-centred design practice. Assist the Product Manager by fulfilling the product owner role if necessary. Champion user-centred design and user research across CQC and present findings to colleagues. Manage the procurement and own the relationship with the suppliers of any accessibility testing of our public digital services. Have the appropriate knowledge, skills and experience to actively promote diversity and equality of opportunity, treat everyone with dignity and respect and avoid unlawful discrimination. Monitor usability and accessibility issues and developments and bring to the attention of the Service Manager. Performance analysis and user research Monitor analytics, search logs and error reports to identify key user journeys, content pages for review and areas for development. Track KPIs that evaluate CQC's digital services in line with GDS service manual. Perform the role of the performance analyst for the organisation's agile digital projects and support the relevant GDS assessment processes. Configure the organisation's analytics account to help teams track the performance of digital services. Present performance analysis and user research findings to emphasise recommendations. Oversee relevant online data collection such as annual web satisfaction survey. Support the User Researchers in conducting interviews with users. Support the Content Designers to use analytics data to devise content based on user needs. Essential Skills and Experience: Extensive experience of analytics and knowledge of how they can be used to identify improvements. Demonstrable knowledge and experience of managing digital projects across the whole lifecycle. Strong understanding of the GDS service standards and design patterns. Demonstrable knowledge of web accessibility, the assisted digital approach and the standards expected in these areas. Excellent oral and published written communication skills. Understanding and experience of web processes and user generated content. Experience (and, preferably, qualification) in Agile project management. Knowledge of health and social care or regulatory environments. Experience of managing multiple projects. Experience of dealing with senior stakeholders.
