    Context/Scope

    Digital & Technology (D&T) is a global multi-functional, digital delivery function established to facilitate Diageo becoming "the best data insights-driven consumer product company, unleashing the power of data with consumers, customers and suppliers to create competitive advantage ".

    To ensure the continued success of Diageo's operations, it is essential that we keep evolving into a more pragmatical, efficient and Lean Organization by adopting Agile Best practices and influencing the way we deploy and implement programs and projects in Diageo. It is within the Agile Coach remit to train, coach, and mentor those key roles in the organization at all levels and set the path for a product led mind set which will enable the organization to achieve value faster. The Role is Global and should be able to support all the Value Streams of the Organization

    Purpose of Role

    The Purpose of this r ole is to lead the transition into an Agile organization . Through establishing a Lean Agile Centre of Excellence (LACE) . T he desired outcome is to create a supportive function that enables , c oa ches and trains the people and teams in value streams a cross Diageo in the adoption of a tailored approach to agile ways of working . The LACE will need to support the transition to Value stream and products.

    D&T delivers products to all Diageo markets and functions. The portfolio has a complex multi - geography/ functional/ process/system footprint.

    Providing continued support across multi geographic delivery teams is a key responsibility of the role .

    Leadership Responsibilities & capabilities

    • Facilitate learning and development through individual and team training, mentoring, coaching and facilitation .

    • Coach senior leadership in agile practices to ensure adoption of best practices . guide the leadership into Agile Mindset and how to lead by example.

    • Effectively communicate the LACE purpose and vision, and overall operating model across the organization

    • Champion the use of metrics and other objective measures across teams

    • Keep an objective perspective on issues and troubleshoots by applying agile principles

    Financial Complexity

    No direct financial responsibilities , however, will have an impact in improving the process to release budget to the Agile Team Via Lean Portfolio Management. The LACE will need to train, coach and mentor the leaders in the organization that manage financials

    Top Accountabilities

    • Supports the organisation in maturing their internal Agile capabilities

    • Builds capability amongst D&T an d wider to raise the level of practical experience and familiarity of agile concepts.

    • Using Scaling Agile ( SAFe ) as a reference point, d evelops context specific guidance and a playbook to be used by Diageo to drive out their application within ARTs.

    • Working with the Change Management CoE , coaches and colleagues in dealing with a changing environment in agile initiatives aligned with defined framework .

    • Facilitates organisational change to support agile adoption & business agility.

    • Diagnose and h ighlights areas of improvement within current ARTs and defines a roadma p to address findings.

    • In partnership with the Portfolio Management Office, develops Lean portfolio management concepts and incorporates them into the wider portfolio and value streams.

    • Designs, develops & delivers Lean and Agile training at any level within the organisation, on both fundamental and advanced topics.

    • Support the wider project and programme management practise by owning the Agile Learning and Development plans for D&T.

    • Maintains knowledge of practices/trends in the industry & continues to build own knowledge and experience in a number of speciality areas; to build capability both within the team and the wider community ( e.g. TDD, OKRs, agile testing, Business readiness, tooling, training).

    • Create consistency in track ing & mitigat ing impediments/dependencies.

    • Role models the agile values, principles & behaviours; sets the example for the team & leadership to follow.

    • Drives improvement and innovative thinking in the ways of working.

    • Encourages continuous improvement and learning, enabling the LACE team members to grow & take responsibility for their accountabilities.

    • Actively participates & contributes to the Agile Community. Is seen to be leading by example in the community.

    Qualifications and Experience Required

    • Scrum Master certification (A-CSM or PSM 2 or SAFe Agilist/Scrum Master).

    • Extensive experience in Scrum, Kanban, & Scaled Agile Frameworks ( SAFe ).

    • Experience of building community of practices.

    • Demonstrate situations where they have applied different techniques, practices or frameworks to help teams build a cadence for successful delivery .

    • Can share practical successes & failures where they have adopted different techniques to demonstrate a rounded view.

    • Experience of large scale facilitating in any context.

    • Experience in building self-managing teams.

    • Experience of d esign t hinking , hypothesis driven experimentation, and product management

    • Understands lean thinking and practices.

    • Understands/has experience in the technical craft of modern software delivery, including, but not limited to TDD, BDD, CI, CD.

    • Experience of conflict resolution techniques.

    • Strong , outcome focussed leader, educator & coach.

    • An excellent communicator, listener & motivator.
