About the Head Chef Role: As the Head Chef, you will take a lead in the management of a quality catering service at our luxury modern home Fairmile Grange , you will lead both the kitchen and waiting staff to deliver an excellent dining experience which will include special celebratory events. You will be responsible for the homes catering budget and will ensure that your team maintain the highest standards of safety and hygiene. Main duties and responsibilities as a Head Chef : Create nutritious well-balanced menus which reflect a high standard of using fresh, quality, and seasonal produce. The menus will meet all dietary requirements within the company guidelines and in consultation with residents, relatives, and nursing staff. Prepare, cook, and present all meals attractively. The majority of dishes will be made in house and home baked products should be available daily for residents and visitors to the home. Supervise the layout of the dining room ensuring a welcoming atmosphere with fully laid tables in line with the home s standards. Supervise food delivery and presentation to residents and visitors, and if requested the delivery of meal trays to resident s rooms and the timely collection of meal trays. Responsible for managing the food budget so that expenditure does not exceed the monthly targets and ensuring that full records are kept. Order all supplies cost effectively using nominated and approved suppliers; negotiate best value for local purchase arrangements and non-centralised goods.Skills and experience you need as Head Chef : Ensure that COSHH regulations are complied with and keep all required records. To ensure current training is up to date for all employees under your supervision and to ensure you are fully qualified and your qualifications are kept up to date. These may include the following: Health and Safety, Nutrition, Food Hygiene, Food Awareness and First Aid. Level 2 NVQ in food safety, COSHH, fire safety, infection control, moving and handling and POVA if required by the Registered Manager. Undertake tasks as required and instructed by the manager which are not specifically set out in this job description but are within the scope of your skills, knowledge and experience.Benefits: Salary up to £14.33 per hour.
