THE ROLE
- Act as the first point of contact for inquiries from residents within district boundaries.
- Provide timely and accurate responses to inquiries or escalate complex issues as necessary.
- Manage relevant email inboxes, ensuring prompt and organized responses.
- Prioritize and categorize incoming messages for efficient handling.
- Deliver excellent customer service to both current and prospective customers, including residents and businesses.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of applications.
- Process purchase orders in compliance with departmental guidelines.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of procurement-related documents.
- Maintain databases related to services offered within the Recycling & Waste Department.
- Update and manage data to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
- Process refunds and payments as required.
- Ensure financial transactions are handled accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare and process legal documents in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements and departmental policies.
- Process invoices for relevant works carried out within the department.
- Verify accuracy and assist with resolving billing-related issues.
- Assist the department with stock control activities as needed.
- Help maintain inventory levels and records.
- Provide administrative support to other sections within the Recycling & Waste Department when required.
Skills Required
- Ability to provide a high level of customer service
- Able to work with a range of databases as well as data entry and processing standard admin tasks.
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- Able to communicate with a wide range of people from different backgrounds ethnic, social and
- professional both verbally and in writing.
- Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative
- Competent IT user in Microsoft products i.e Outlook, Excel and word.
