Role: SEN TA Location: Tiverton, Devon Salary: £75 £90 per day Start date: As soon as possible Contract type: Ad-hoc basis GSL Education is currently looking for SEN TAs in Tiverton to cater for children and young people with SEMH, Autism, Challenging Behaviour, and other learning difficulties. If you are an SEN Teaching Assistant, or Support Worker then this could be the role for you! Your daily responsibilities as an SEN TA will include: • Acting as a positive role model and managing behaviour • Providing 1:1 support for the pupils • Ensuring a safe learning environment and approaching education with a child centered approach. • Supporting pupils to make good academic progress, under the direction of the teacher • Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence • Under the direction of a teacher implement group or 1:1 intervention • Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher • Understanding Individual Education Plans & Behaviour Support Plans and assisting to implement these, under the guidance of the teacher The ideal candidate will have: • A hard-working, energetic and flexible nature • Clear communication skills • A calm, understanding and consistent approach to working with children • Knowledge of Autism, SEMH, ADHD and Challenging Behaviour • Ideally Team Teach trained • DBS on update service or willing to apply for a new one. • Able to work around the Wigan area Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks.
