Join our dynamic Financial & Commercial team in the Facilities Management department and embark on an exciting opportunity. As a key member, you will lead and oversee the preparation, evaluation, and presentation of our Facilities rolling 1-to-5-year capital plans, ensuring a solid agreement. Collaborating with our internal team, you will assess project requirements and allocate budgets based on market costings. Taking charge of managing the Facilities capital budgets, you'll navigate changing business priorities and project costs while staying within the agreed budget. Your negotiation skills will be essential in seeking budget adjustments when necessary, ensuring seamless financial management.Please note: We operate under strict security clearance guidelines so candidates must have a British passportLocation: Stevenage - 2 or 3 days per week in officeWhat's in it for you:

    What to expect:

    • Gather Facilities Management Capital requirements for 1-5 years
    • Conduct budget forecasting, business case building, financial applications and cost control
    • Monitor market trends, inflation rates, and update forecasts accordingly
    • Take ownership of the specification design guide documentation
    • Maintain and update the Bill of Rates, serving as the main liaison between Facilities Management and Finance for capital-related matters
    • Challenge quotes and collaborate with Central Procurement for contracts and major procurement activities, ensuring policy compliance

    What we need from you:

    • Leadership skills and the ability to lead a team
    • Project cost control and budget management throughout project lifecycle
    • Budget forecasting and strong financial acumen, including market understanding
    • Facilities management experience, including construction knowledge
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
    • Proficiency in Excel, database management and analysis
    • Proactive mindset with focus on continuous improvement and results-oriented approach
