This is a crucial role for a very well invested commercial solar player, they manage and develop some of the largest solar portfolios in the rooftop space and have recently seen huge investment from one of Europe s largest energy investors. We re looking for an exceptional commercial and business development professional, who can take responsibility for the company s capital deployment. Having significant influence on the success of the business whilst operating at board level with decision makers. (FDs/CFOs, MDs/CEOs, Facilities Directors). The company funds a free solar PV system that generates clean electrical energy on site, which is supplied to the incumbent business at very attractive rates via a PPA (power purchase agreement). The target market are businesses in the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector who wish to save energy, reduce expenditure, and or, reduce their environmental footprint (drive to Net Zero) This is a massive growth area with huge demand for the service, but the relative complexity of the process requires 'C suite' engagement and a consultative 'solution sales' approach. About you We re interested in applications from well-rounded business professionals with high levels of drive, a friendly consultative approach, successful sales track record and the ability to qualify opportunities very effectively. A background in B2B sales in financial services or renewable energy would be extremely interesting, especially if it s coupled with knowledge of the target market. The company is doing very well, currently small, but growing rapidly and has a game changing strategic partnership with a very large funder (Europe s largest solar energy investment Co) to underwrite all new business. Hence this new role. General Responsibilities: The Commercial Director will initially manage a team of around 6 people: including 2/3 BDM s and a Client Engagement Manager and 2 client engagement executives. Over time it is intended that the Commercial Director will also manage the marketing function, which will comprise a Marketing Manager/Executive Take responsibility for the guidance, coaching and mentoring or the team. Helping coach on specific deals Managing the operations of the client engagement team Work on direct leads and opportunities as appropriate Take responsibility for key bids and tenders Lead and effectively manage all sales opportunity review processes with a view to increasing the chances of winning deals Remuneration Competitive basic salary up to 120,000 plus discretionary performance bonus + benefits.
