PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT £70-75,000 We are seeking a highly analytical individual who has a keen interest in the transport sector who enjoys challenging transport policy and economic regulation issues for our client who acts as an advisory practice advising government institutions, regulators, investors and transport operators around the world: they cover all transport modes but have a specific regulatory focus on aviation and rail. Their work covers a wide range of economic analysis to support decision-making in the transport sector, including the development of new legislation, the design of performance incentive mechanisms in contracts for the provision of transport services, and the assessment of the system of economic regulation in place for assets of interest to some of the world s leading investors. We are seeking to attract a graduate with a degree in economics or a related discipline, with strong analytical content. The ability to manage and provide high quality advice to transport regulators and support in the development of policies. Additionally assessing how economic regulation operates in individual transport-focused businesses, as part of their transaction advisory support to investors. Undertaking technical analysis, report writing and presentations to clients within clearly defined budgets as well as demanding timescales. You will lead project teams in accordance with their business procedures. Deliver effective, high-quality proposals and engage in business development in the UK and overseas. Manage, supervise and coach junior members of the team to help them achieve their full potential. Contribute to technical discipline development activities. A good understanding the application of economic regulation in transport and other infrastructure assets and leading projects to a successful conclusion. Advising public and/or private sector clients as well a developing insightful analysis, report writing and communicating effectively with diverse audiences. Experience in other economic regulatory practices and another European language with experience of working for policy makers. You will have had exposure to business development and drafting winning proposals, which would be very beneficial.
