    We currently have a great opportunity to join our team in Jewson Daventry as a Tool Hire Workshop Fitter, delivering on the maintenance, service, and repair of our hire equipment. Our range of equipment is varied and includes compressors, mini- excavators, dumpers, small tools, gardening equipment, and more.

    Jewson is now part of STARK Building Materials UK. We are a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe. We connect suppliers of heavy building materials with the professional craftsmen who build, renovate, and maintain the cities of tomorrow

    This role would suit applicants with a good general mechanical skill set offering experience in the service and repair of small petrol and diesel engines, basic hydraulic fitting such as hoses and seals, and similar. This is a great role for inquisitive applicants that have a keen interest in mechanics and a workshop environment and have been trained and are experienced in plant, tool, or even perhaps automotive mechanical work, with some electrical elements. If you offer the core skills and a good attitude to your work and colleagues, we will offer training on our equipment and a route to progression for applicants seeking development.

    Please note - a valid driving licence is required for this role.

    Key Results Areas

    • To diagnose faults and repair/ maintain a variety of small plant and tools in the fleet including compressors, mini- excavators, dumpers, small tools etc, both on and off site
    • Update equipment service records once checked and tagged
    • When required ensure transport and delivery schedules are maintained to provide optimum customer service
    • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of current Tool Hire and industry Health & Safety procedures, ensuring compliance with all legal and Company requirements
    • Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment
    • Participate in stock take duties as required
    • Any other reasonable duties as directed by your line manager
    • Comply with all Company policies and procedures (HR, Health & Safety, Business Controls, etc)
