    We have a fantastic opportunity for a HR Manager/Senior Business Partner to join a prestigious education body situated in beautiful grounds within North Yorkshire.

    You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of all HR working with Governors, the Principle and wider Senior Team in developing and driving HR strategies, engagement and collective success.

    You will be responsible for a team who manages recruitment and payroll.

    Our client is looking for experience within a school or education body, however if you come from a like industry and have experience with engagement, people development. Ensuring policies and procedures are compliant, progressive and relevant, this is a unique role where you can make a big difference.

    Working hours are from 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday throughout the year. Options for hybrid working may be considered.

    Duties and Responsibilities: this is not an extensive list.

    • Responsible for the HR department.
    • To meet regularly with the HR Assistant to set priorities and review work flows, and to delegate work to them as appropriate;
    • To keep the Principal and Financial Controller regularly updated.
    • To assist in the career development of the HR Assistant, including appraisals and progression reviews.
    • To report to the HR Governor on a termly basis in relation to all school HR matters.
    • To be responsible for all employee relations, including engagement, retention, capability, disciplinary.
    • To support the management population with best practice and team engagement.
    • To manage the regular review of the HR Staff Handbook policies and procedures to ensure that all information remains up to date and in line with current employee legislation.
    • To oversee and support the HR Assistant and Payroll executive with related duties.

    Skills and Knowledge

    • Success with Employee Relations; engagement, people development and grievances as an example.
    • Experience within education or similar governed body, understanding compliance and procedures.
    • Experience of HR functions within a medium size organisation
    • Knowledge of employment law
    • Management of HR staff. Desirable
    • Good IT skills, including use of spreadsheets
    • Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
    • Tact, diplomacy, discretion and confidentiality
    • Effective team player.
    • CIPD or similar qualification in HR. Desirable
