This role will be crucial in the transformation the business is looking to go through, with UK wide travel working with the service centres and the customer sites

    Michael Page Engineering are partnering with a Global Industrial Manufacturing business who are looking for a UK Health and Safety Manager focused on the deployment of engineers across the service part of the business. This role will be crucial in the transformation the business is looking to go through, with UK wide travel working with the service centres and the customer sites, it will be a great opportunity for someone to take full ownership of the Health and Safety strategy for this really important part of the services business unit.

    Our client are a Global Industrial Manufacturer who are seen as a true market leader in their industry and provide bespoke products that are focused on the process manufacturing sectors with customers that manufacturer anything from food, building products, chemicals etc

    The UK Senior HSE team are a new appointed structure and you will be joining at this exciting time of change across the business. This new role is pivotal in the success of the transformation

    Description

    The UK HSE Manager for field service is focused on developing and driving new procedures for the deployment of engineers on customer sites, UK Wide

    The role will:

    • Ensure the requirements of UK management system and ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 are implemented and adhered to across the field service side
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the UK HSE management system through the sharing of local best practice and lessons learnt.
    • Lead and facilitate actions and initiatives to help achieve targets and objectives and in meeting stakeholder satisfaction goals and the company's overall corporate strategy.
    • Ensure the effective HSE management and coordination of all subcontract partners.
    • Create strong relationships with internal stakeholders, Customers and all enforcing authorities
    • Create a collaborative culture
    • Audit and Inspect against the procedures in place and look to continually improve
    • Update all changes in legislation to keep fully compliant Maintain an effective system for identifying, reporting and implementation of corrective actions resulting from system non-conformance, site inspections, customer audits, investigations, statutory examinations, etc.

    Profile

    • NEBOSH Diploma / Health and Safety Degree or NVQ level 5 equivalent is expected
    • Chartership would be advantageous
    • A background in deployment, heavy engineering or service sectors would be advantageous
    • A hands-on approach is essential for this role
    • Exposure of working with customers to create procedures
    • A positive and passionate HSE professional
    • Background in improving a process and procedures to positively influence culture on safety
    • Excellent communication skills at a range of levels (written and verbal)
    • Working knowledge of safety systems is imperative
    • High knowledge of Health and Safety Law, Health and Safety Policies / Procedures / acknowledged best practice
    • Ability to interpret legislation in the context of the business
