    A Manufacturing Engineer is required for a minimum contract of 6 months in Darlington paying c£30ph DOE (inside IR35).

    A large heavy industry manufacturing business in Darlington.

    Description

    As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for:

    • Providing support for the Engine Assembly and Test processes.
    • Leading Process (P) FMEA's and develop to ensure a robust Assembly Process to minimise assembly defects.
    • Developing/redesigning workstation layouts to improve efficiency and accommodate new tooling and products.
    • Developing Work Instructions (WI) and Standard Operations Procedures (SOP) for new processes within the Assembly Process.
    • Reviewing and actioning Engineering Releases for all areas of the Assembly Process.
    • Supporting Industrial Engineering (IE) activities in line balancing and workstation TAKT time to ensure a capable process for daily/hourly build rates.
    • Leading Manufacturing Change Request (MCR) projects for Safety and Quality improvement work and complete associated Corrective Action Requests (CAR).

    Profile

    The successful Manufacturing Engineer will have:

    • Previously worked in a similar Manufacturing Engineering position in an assembly based environment - ESSENTIAL
    • A working knowledge of Six Sigma / Lean methodologies - ESSENTIAL
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills - ESSENTIAL
    • Previously managed/mentored a small team - HIGHLY DESIRABLE
    • Diesel engine assembly or automotive experience - DESIRABLE

    Job Offer

    This is an interim position, initially for 6 months, based in Darlington. The role sits inside IR35 and will pay c£30ph.
