Outdoor Nursery Practitioners and Forest School Practitioners Brief insight: St Donats Nursery Ltd provides learning opportunities, care and support for children aged two to four years old. We are set within the campus of Atlantic College (a United World College), at St Donats Castle near Llantwit Major on the Vale of Glamorgan Heritage Coast. In September, we will be opening a Nature Nursery where the children can experiment, investigate and explore so we are looking to expand our great team. There will be two yurts; however play will take place mainly outdoors. Children will be able to play in the way that they choose, taking risks, learning to respect and take care of their environment, whilst creating some great memories. Job description St Donats Nursery Ltd is looking to recruit dedicated, energetic and fun practitioners who are passionate about the outdoors. Our pedagogy consists of elements of the new curriculum; loose parts; the curiosity approach; forest school; and the play work approach. We believe in the right of the child to play and as practitioners, our aim is to enable them to do so, whilst providing an effective environment, which create engaging experiences. The right candidates for this position will work as part of our team to: Enable safe and stimulating play that meets the social, linguistic, creative, physical, imaginative, and emotional needs of the child. Ensure that the nursery provides quality care. Encourage good working relationships between children, parents and staff. Provide and maintain equal opportunities for all staff, parents and children. Ensure that our environment remains healthy and safe. Complete any administrative duties as required. Comply with industry standards and relevant legislation and work with relevant authorities as required by the Nursery Manager. Develop and evolve of the nursery. Undertake Parents Evenings Attend Staff meetings Undertake training to develop own knowledge and skills. Hours of work: Part time and Full time available Preferred requirements: Level 3 Diploma (or higher) in Children's Care, Learning and Development QCF NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or an accepted equivalent Forest School Practitioner Salary: In line with the national living minimum wage. Location: Atlantic College, St Donats, Llantwit Major, Vale of Glamorgan, CF61 1WF. Probationary period: 6 Months DBS check: Post is subject to a satisfactory DBS check and references
