    Job Title: Clerical Co-ordinator

    Trust Location: Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust

    Hours: 3 days Per Week (Long Days 7.30 am - 8.30 pm) or 5 Days (09.00 -17.00 Mon -Fri)

    About the Trust

    The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS trust plays a huge part in west Essex and east and north Hertfordshire's way of life.

    The trust runs a busy hospital, The Princess Alexandra Hospital and provides services at St. Margaret's Hospital and Herts and Essex Hospital. Together serve a population of around 350,000 people.

    What you'll be responsible for:

    • Provide an efficient and professional reception and clerical service which gives confidence to patients and their relatives.
    • Answer all telephone enquiries, taking and relaying messages in a polite and helpful manner ensuring patient confidentiality at all times.
    • Ensure patient records are maintained and electronically tracked in accordance with the Trust's policies and procedures
    • Arrange patients transport to another hospital/ home by completing necessary paperwork as required.

    The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above

    You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

    • An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
    • Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
    • A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

    You'll have the following skills/experience:

    • Knowledge of/exposure to data protection and confidentiality.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Able to work well autonomously and as part of a team.
    • Previous experience in a similar role. (Desirable)
    • Previous NHS experience. (Desirable)
