    Join our great team at beautiful Lyme!

    Working with the existing ranger team to improve habitats for wildlife across 1400 acres and provide a welcome environment for visitors to unwind. This three day a week, permanent post will give you opportunities to get involved in a wide variety of tasks in an ecologically diverse estate. This part time role is flexible to suit you and your lifestyle.

    The Lyme Ranger team are committed to improving the health of our varied habitats which include; Parkland, moorland, broadleaf and coniferous woodlands, ponds, lakes and wood pasture. We are also keen to develop a strong desire within our visitors to make a difference for nature and the planet. With this in mind engagement with our visitors is key and you will play your part in delivering activities which help foster an understanding of the natural world and the need to care for it.

    Click here for more information about this location What you'll be doing This is an extremely varied role which will see you getting involved in tasks such as fencing, dry stone walling ecological monitoring, woodland management, working with volunteers, leading guided walks, invasive species removal and work with our herd of red deer. Whilst it is fair to say that the role is focussed on practical tasks, there will also be an element of office work required. Who we're looking for
    • A passion for the protecting the natural world
    • Relevant conservation land management knowledge and experience
    • Herbicide application eg Pa1 and Pa6
    • Full driving licence
    • Good verbal communication skills
    • Experience of using tools, machinery and equipment relevant to the role such as brushcutters, hand tools, chainsaws.
