    We are recruiting for a Lead Pre-Construction Manager to join us at Octavius for our rail framework covering our Electrification & Plant (E&P) ;We are a leading civil engineering organisation delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK. You'll be working on . (what your role and responsibility is)
    • Accountable for the safe, planned, coordinated undertaking and completion of site inspections, surveys & investigations required to inform the development solution.
    • Ensure all designs fully assess risk (both for construction, operation, maintenance and decommissioning), risks are openly discussed within the teams, and accurate and comprehensive risk registers are maintained and passed over at the required gateways.
    • Detailed and effective change control process is in place to record changes during development, and where these have commercial impact that they are agreed. Effective management of risk and opportunity and sharing of best practice.
    • Undertake periodic reporting in line with framework requirements ( MPR and PPR)
    • Co-ordination between suppliers, designers, Octavius and Network Rail throughout the development of the permanent works design, temporary works design and construction methods to ensure that value for money solutions are developed and accepted.
    • Selecting the right suppliers for each project and ensure the right competent people are reviewing the designed solutions through the project life cycle.
    • Typically a line manager for 3 to 5 people.
    • Provide clarity of purpose, accountability and performance targets for all members of your team, helping them develop appropriate skills and tools.

    You'll bring (your wealth of experience & qualifications)
    • Proven experience of delivering projects across the whole project life-cycle (design & on-site construction).
    • Knowledge of Network Rail processes and assurance procedures. Experienced at working within a Rail environment.
    • Engineering knowledge with relevant experience in suitable disciplines, such as Civils, M&E, Geotechnical and/or rail disciplines like permanent way, signalling, telecoms and E&P.
    • Good level of NEC3 knowledge, and ability to administer the contract.
    • A related degree (electrical or mechanical biased), diploma, or vocational qualification, or equivalent demonstrable experience in Construction or Civil Engineering.
    • Site Managers Safety Training Scheme, or equivalent CDM 2015 training (desirable)
    • Chartered membership with a relevant industry body ( APM or ICE) (desirable)
    • Personal Track Safety (desirable)
    • Temporary Works Coordination (desirable)
