We are currently working with a client who are looking to add to their team within education in prison settings. In the role as a tutor within the prison education system, you possess the power to truly impact and enhance the lives of individuals. Despite its challenges, this position offers remarkable satisfaction as it contributes significantly to lowering the rate of re-offending among learners. The pivotal role Tutors play involves not only recognising the specific educational needs of learners but also crafting tailored training strategies and providing essential support to overcome obstacles hindering their path to employment.
Key responsibilities of the Industrial Cleaning Tutor• Identifying the individual needs of learners ensuring that all learners have an individual learning plan which links to their long-term employment goals.• Continually reviewing learner's progression to ensure that the training continues to meet their identified needs.• Preparing, delivering and reviewing lesson plans for all sessions that address the training needs of the group including basic literacy, numeracy, language and other social/employability barriers to employment.• Actively gaining feedback from learners and other sources, reviewing & improving curriculum content accordingly.• Engaging and motivating both individuals and learner groups to increase retention.• Completing all of the necessary administration e.g. registers, enrolment forms, ILPs, reviews,• Awarding Body documentation as determined by external and internal requirements in line with contractual deadlines.• Working with colleagues / hosts to assist learner's progression towards qualifications, and movement into employment.
The requirements of an Industrial Cleaning Tutor:• Recognised Assessor Award- TAQA/CAVA/A1 etc • Maths and English Level 2• Subject specialist qualification/Extensive industrial cleaning experience• Full Teaching qualification at level 5 or above (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS) or ability to work towards• Experience of developing curriculum/ programmes of learning and of planning & delivering, on a roll-on, roll-off programme.• Experience using various different platforms and confidence in presentation ability.• The ability to keep calm during challenging situations and remain in control.
