Prospero Health and Social Care are looking for Residential Support Workers to support an established 'Good' rated 4-bedded Children's Home in Portishead for girls with SEMH needs. This home is for medium to long-term placements.

This is for a company that cares for young people that have SEMH needs due to adverse childhood experienced including complex trauma. As a result, these children require a highly regulated environment with trained staff working with these children to create a nurturing and safe environment. We are not necessarily looking for candidates that have experience in a similar setting as all training will be provided. However, experience working with young people with SEMH needs in a residential setting or an education setting is desirable.

    Duties include:

    • Completing household tasks

    • Helping children with schoolwork
    • Taking the children to activities
    • Providing structure to the lives of the children that you support
    • Creating a safe and nurturing environment for the young people to develop

The typical hours are a combination of long days and sleep-in shifts with 24 hours being spent at the home with a sleep-in shift included in this.

This position commands a highly competitive basic salary of between £ 24,616 - £ 27,900 per annum based on completing 7 sleeps per month. The company will also support you through gaining additional qualifications including the QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce and further qualifications which will open doors to internal promotion and management positions moving forwards.

    • Passion for improving the lives of vulnerable young people in care.
    • A conscientious and resilient personality.
    • Experience working with children (essential)

    Benefits with the position

    • Pension Auto-enrolment
    • Refer a friend scheme for both qualified and unqualified
    • Free meals on shift (for residential roles)
