Do you enjoy working with special needs? About the role You will be working with students ages 11-16 years old with mild to moderate learning difficulties, a majority of whom have a diagnosis of Autism (ASD) as well as some students with other SEN including ADHD, Down Syndrome and language delays. This is a class of students with a lot of character and strong personalities so someone with strong behaviour management and proactivity is ideal. You will be helping the class teacher with class control, helping students engage in lessons and engaging in sensory activities. Prior experience working with special needs and older students/young adults is highly desirable for applicants. The ideal applicant will be well spoken, with good knowledge of special educational needs and be a proactive, hard working and well presented individual who is passionate about SEN. This role is full-time Monday to Friday 8am-4pm so applicants must be able to commit to these hours. About the school This is an excellent Jewish all-through special school based in Pinner Harrow. They are a new school, with sate of the art equipment and sensory rooms and an excellent staffing team know are knowledgeable and passionate about SEN. The school caters to students with mild to moderate special educational needs and believes in providing a stimulating environment for students to excel and make the best use of their abilities both inside and outside of the classroom. The school is accessible by London underground routes, overground and local bus routes as well as having a large parking lot onsite for those who drive.
