What will you do?

As the Senior Network Engineer, you will install, configure, deploy, test, and document the implementation of Redde Northgate's internal network and security devices. You will take the lead on higher complexity work and provide technical guidance and oversight of the team's Network Engineers to ensure that network solution designs are being implemented as per the group standards, minimising operational risk and the security of the network.

As part of the wider technology team, you will provide subject matter expertise in several areas with a focus on firewalls, network security, routing, switching, wireless technologies and software defined networking. You will strive for continuous improvement and evolution within network to improve performance, delivery timelines and consistency into the operation using technologies, and be a key contributor to the technology roadmap through the Engineering Manager.

About you

• 5 years+ experience of working in a project engineering function (incorporating some design) for a large and complex business group including creating and maintaining documentation and work instructions.
• 3-5 years' experience and knowledge of Cisco routing and switching to a CCNA/CCNP level with a good understanding of dynamic routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF and BGP.
• Experience of technical leadership, direction, and guidance of other Network Engineers, with a focus on reducing operational risk and improving security.
• 5 years+ experience in business network migrations incorporating LAN, WAN and SD-WAN technologies for a large and complex business group.
• Knowledge of firewalls and security appliances including Cisco ASA, Palo Alto and Checkpoint firewalls.
• Knowledge of wireless technologies such as Aruba, Meraki.
• Knowledge and experience of secure network implementations using 802.1x on wired and wireless networks.
• Knowledge of Software defined networking within private and public clouds (VMware, Azure).
• Knowledge of IP telephony, especially SIP trunking and Avaya/Mitel technologies.
