SEN/PMLD Primary Teacher - Highams Park We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a talented and compassionate SEN/PMLD Primary Teacher to join a dedicated team at a school in Highams Park. As a specialist in Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), you will have a unique opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of our students. Responsibilities: Plan and deliver tailored lessons and activities that meet the diverse needs of students with SEN/PMLD, ensuring their individual goals and targets are addressed. Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages engagement, independence, and social interaction. Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, including therapists, support staff, and parents/guardians. Use a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and assistive technologies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Monitor and assess students' progress, providing regular feedback and reporting to parents/guardians and the SENCO. Collaborate effectively with colleagues, sharing best practices, participating in team meetings, and contributing to the development of the curriculum. Maintain accurate records of students' achievements, behaviour, and attendance. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, Proven experience working with students with PMLD, preferably in a primary setting. Sound knowledge of PMLD teaching approaches, strategies, and resources. Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems and assistive technologies. Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and the ability to create a safe and nurturing environment for students. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents/guardians, and multidisciplinary teams. Patience, empathy, and resilience to meet the complex and varied needs of students with SEN/PMLD. Ability to adapt and differentiate instruction to accommodate individual learning styles and abilities. Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for working with children with SEN/PMLD.
