In order to provide key customer project management focus across a range of Safran Engineering Services UK, we are looking to recruit a Project Manager. Who will be working in close coordination with the wider SES project organisation to accomplish on site project objectives (Scope, Schedule, Cost and Quality) through planning, execution and closure of all project related activities. With an immediate start date the role is offered on a permanent contract.
Responsibilities
Assume the role of main point of contact for the key customer and other project stakeholders
Create and deliver project work plans (schedules), projects proposal and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. In conjunction with the wider SES project organisation
Work with the wider SES project organisation to define the skills/resources required for the project and contribute to the development of the training plan to enhance resources skills as required
Identify resources and assign responsibilities for the project activities locally and then work in conjunction with the SES project organisation with regards to offsite resource
Manage day to day operational aspects of the project
Apply the basic cost model of the organisation to estimate the project cost, prepare the annual/monthly budget
Monitor project progress against the baseline
Contribute to the reporting of financials (to be invoiced) to Sales/Finance department
Manage stakeholders by ensuring effective and efficient communication of project status
Analyse variances with respect to schedule, cost and quality and initiate corrective action in case of deviation with the wider SES project organisation
Ensure that the on-site project audits are planned and executed (quality audit and configuration audit)
Monitor sub-contracting activities in the onsite projects
Work with the wider SES project organisation to ensure that on site project documents are complete, current, and appropriately stored
Perform on site project closure activities, create the lesson learned document.
Qualifications
Master degree level and ideally holds PMI, IPMA or equivalent certifications, with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a similar role.
Essential skills:
- An element of engineer understanding is preferred
- Leadership and team management potential
- Strong communication skills, including with project team members, stakeholders and general management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, transverse project environment
- Ability to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and written
- Experience with Project Management tools and software.
- A willingness to undertake PM+ project management methodology training
- Ability to manage within a matrix organisation
Contract conditions for permanents:
- 185 hours holiday per year plus statutory bank holidays
