    In this role, you will work within a rapidly changing environment which is under intense scrutiny. You will be part of the senior management team reporting to the Section 151 officer, where you will be required to play a lead role in delivering the corporate plan, ensuring full integration with the financial plans and play a pivotal role in rebuilding the function. There should no doubt that you will be the vanguard of ensuring the finance service operates to the highest professional and transformational standards, implementing major change and driving through a whole Council approach to high quality financial management. The function is being redesigned and recruitment of the wider team is well underway.

    As Deputy Director - Financial Management, you will lead the provision and negotiations of cutting-edge commercial advice on a range of high-profile issues, projects and programmes and significant procurement affecting the Council. You will be the main interface with all departments of the Council to ensure robust budget preparation and management and the review of all reports into Cabinet and Council.
