    We have an exciting opportunity to join us a Level 7 Assessor (Teacher) on a fixed term (until July 2024), full time (35 hours per week) basis.

    As a Level 7 Assessor (Teacher) you will provide supervision of your curriculum area, ensuring that you meet budget, quality, and operational targets. You will deliver high quality, learner-focused education providing a secure and friendly environment in order for your students to succeed. In your role you will plan, lead, and develop the curriculum area within the establishment to ensure compliance with the national curriculum framework, the integration of functional skills, best practice, and quality targets.

    Qualifications/experience necessary:

    • Assessor qualifications (if required by Awarding Organisation)
    • Minimum Level 3 occupational qualification
    • English and maths minimum level 2 Grace C or grade 4 and above
    • A teaching qualification at Level 5 or above. A Specialist Dyslexia/SpLD teaching qualification at Level 5 or above, or the ability to achieve this within 12 months of recruitment.

    Also at least one of the following: -

    • a postgraduate level course at or equivalent to Level 7, including at least 100 hours relating to individual specialist assessment of learners with Dyslexia/SpLD, or Exam Access Arrangements.
    • a current SpLD, Assessment Practising Certificate, as awarded by BDA, the Dslexia Guild, or Patoss and listed on the SASC website. Including the theoretical basis underlying psychometric tests, such as the concepts of validity and reliability, standard deviations and the normal curve, raw scores, standard scores, quotients, percentiles and age equivalent scores; the concept of statistically significant discrepancies between scores; standard error of measurement and confidence intervals.
