GB News is looking for an America Specialist Researcher to work on its flagship Prime Time show, Farage. If you are a highly motivated and experienced researcher with a keen interest in US politics and current affairs, we want to hear from you! In this role, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth research, briefing the presenter ahead of shows and managing in-studio guests. In addition to your excellent writing ability, you understand the value of finding fresh angles to stories, providing guest ideas and developing succinct briefing notes. Location: Paddington, London Key responsibilities Prepare briefing materials and conduct research for segments and guests featured on the show. Provide concise briefings on stories and the broader US news agenda. Collaborate with the Guest Booker to manage and maintain a US forward planning calendar and contact database. Conduct preliminary interviews of contributors before their on-air appearance. Guest management: Welcome and assist in-studio guests, brief them ahead of their interview, and provide them with clips post-broadcast. The Ideal candidate A good understanding of the US news agenda, understanding what matters to a British audience. Previous experience researching, brief-writing and fact checking information. Excellent communication skills. Understanding of OFCOM guidelines and media law. Experience in publications or think tanks ideal but not necessary. Experience in a newsroom ideal but not necessary. Ability to work flexibly across different news show shifts - including some weekends. Willingness to travel, sometimes abroad and at short notice, for outside broadcasts.
