    Area Cleaning Manager - Vertas Derbyshire Limited Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year Competitive - dependent on experience Main Purpose of the Job: The Area Manager has responsibility for the day-to-day cleaning and caretaking service delivery across their area. The job holder will manage the cleaners, caretakers and site managers and build effective partnerships with the clients and colleagues. You will be managing the team with full responsibility for the success and safe running of the contracts providing direction, guidance, training and support to your team to provide an excellent service for Vertas Derbyshire's customers across multi-site locations including schools, academies, county council properties and commercial properties. As an Area Cleaning Manager, you should have a proven track record in a similar position, sound management experience, strong communication and organisation skills and the ability to think outside the box and deliver against set targets. Key Responsibilities: Managing day to day delivery of cleaning services across multiple sites in Derbyshire including Commercial businesses, Schools, Colleges, etc. Line management and support cleaning and caretaking team, ensuring compliance with on-going training needs and appraisals, incorporating recruitment, personal development and succession planning Responsible for site and employee health and safety ensuring compliance with procedures and legislation Ensure that site documentation and risk assessments are maintained and correct. Accountable for adherence to company policies and processes across all locations and ensuring that all colleagues operate in a safe manner and healthy working environment Regular customer contact to ensure we are responsive and adaptable, including site visits, quality auditing and improving compliance and standards Monitoring stock levels and placing orders for sites. Ensure all site equipment is functional and as required Budgetary responsibility to maintain viability of contracts Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement cost savings and account growth. Ensure operational cover by planning and organising staffing requirements, including arranging cover for sickness and holidays and arbitrate the time and attendance system. Build a strong network of local cover staff to fill any roles which become vacant, either short or long term Generate new business from existing clients Retain customers by ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction with reliable service delivery through a motivated, trained workforce Liaise with the Regional Manager regularly to update them on all matters relating to contracts within your geographical area. Log, respond to and solve problems that customers are experiencing as quickly and as efficiently as possible. Escalate issues when necessary to ensure retention of contracts Management and implementation of policies and procedures such as Attendance Management, Performance Capability etc. Prioritising workload to meet ad hoc service demands / service requirements Management and implementation of policies and procedures such as Attendance Management, Performance Capability etc Experience and Key Skills: Previous experience of leading a team to drive change and transform cleaning services across several different locations is desirable. Able to demonstrate focus on clients and quality service essential Excellent client communications skills with the ability to analyse and present information clearly Positive attitude to challenges with the ability to remain calm under pressure in a highly pressurised environment Experience of account management P&L processes A proven track record of delivering results through engaging and empowering teams to delivery exceptional standards of service Effective people management skills when developing weaknesses and encouraging growth Delivery of exceptional standards of service Confident with multi-site management Strong, consistent and effective communicator at all levels Ability to work autonomously and time manage effectively Ability to be pro-active and use initiative Competent and proficient in the use of IT software and packages Strong organisational skills Great time management and 'can do' attitude A full driving licence is essential Your Package: Company pension scheme.
