We have a fantastic opportunity for an Operations Finance Analyst to join our friendly Finance team at Yodel. The key function of this role is to provide a high-quality finance analysis and reporting service to assist in understanding operating cost performance and key trends. This will encompass budgeting, planning & forecasting and the delivery of insightful reporting packs and ad hoc analysis, which will be key to informing the senior management team. What you'll be doing As an Operations Finance Analyst at Yodel, you will support our finance business partners and operating team members to improve cost modelling, reporting and business results. In addition to this you will also be responsible for the day-to-day duties below: Provide a financial decision support service in evaluating and analysing business performance across a range of areas and initiatives and preparing financial proposals to assist in ensuring expected business returns are targeted and achieved. Ensure adherence to Yodel financial policies and procedures, maintaining robust financial and cash control and governance. Develop and deliver relevant and timely and insightful periodic and ad-hoc reporting, sufficient to enable the senior management team to understand operating performance against key levers and KPIs. Support the preparation and analysis of plans and forecasts. Pro-actively investigate variances in expected financial performance, whether positive or negative, to identify the root cause and pro-actively inform and, as necessary lead in taking corrective action. Investment appraisal of commercial and operational proposals, including complex financial modelling, ensuring subsequent monitoring and, if necessary, take corrective action to secure delivery of expected benefits. What you need to show us The successful Analyst will have excellent verbal/written communication skills and attention to detail. A key skill to this role is having a pragmatic, proactive and flexible approach to problem solving with a constructive and effective manner. You will have great time management skills, and a methodical approach, with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced changing environment. In addition, you will need to demonstrate the below skills/experience: You will need experience in the manipulation of data and be capable of transforming that data set into meaningful insight for use by senior stakeholders. Utilise data/information to help to identify and forecast trends and contribute to an understanding of the impact, opportunities, costs, and risks to the business. Good knowledge of Excel and preferably BI software such as Tableau Able to support and challenge colleagues from different functions in a constructive and effective manner. Strong work ethic with focus on detail and accuracy Strong communication skills, both written and oral Quick learner and able to adapt within a dynamic working environment. Great attention to detail is essential as well as strong analytical skills. Experience of working across different functions in the business Must be able to manage own time/workload and be a self-starter. A good blend of people skills and intermediate Excel skills Previous experience analysing and forecasting with on the job training available to develop your skills.
