    Reed Further Education are supporting numerous clients with the recruitment of supported learning candidates. We are seeking Learning Support Assistants for both 1-2-1 and small group set-ups within FE Colleges to support learners with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).

    If you have previously worked within educational settings, FE, coaching, mentoring, sports activities, summer camps, tutoring, NHS, care or youth work then we'd really like to hear from you.     Learning Support Assistant

    Location: South Yorkshire

    Salary: £10 - £12 Per Hour, Including Holiday Pay

    Main Duties as a Learning Support Assistant:

    • To provide in-class literacy, numeracy and IT support to learners with additional needs as deployed by LSA Coordinator.
    • To provide general in-class support to groups or individual learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, as directed by the lecturer in class.
    • • To provide discrete individual support when required to support learners with portfolio building, study skills, numeracy and literacy as deployed by LSA Coordinator.
    • To support learners with additional needs in accessing College facilities and cross-College activities as deployed by LSA Coordinator.

    The successful Learning Support Assistant will show the following skills and qualifications:

    • Experience working in an education environment previously, providing educational and pastoral support to students who may have complex learning difficulties, physical disabilities and mental health needs.
    • Previous knowledge of special educational needs for example, autism or ADHD.
    • Ability to engage students in lessons and aim to promote independence.
    • Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent with evidence or willingness to undertake.
    • DBS on the update service or willingness to apply and pay for one.
